Pigeon’s blood
Due to the rich minerals,Burmese is known to be“The Valley of Rubies”.Burmese rubies are the most sought after rubies in the world and has one of the world’s largest and finest ruby source due to its quality, rich color, exceptional saturation.
Burmese rubies are famous for their exceptional color, especially the blood like red known as“pigeon’s blood”.“Pigeon’s blood”represents one of the finest quality of rubies because they have an in-depth red shade due to the presence of chromium and natural red fluorescence. This causes the color in addition to its purity to not only have strong saturation but also brightness.
The standard for collecting rubies are based on its color, impurity, carat and cut.In principle, the closer the color is to the spectral red,the more expensive and desirable the ruby will be.
