Li Xiaogang’s Legend of Luguhu Lake brought him a fame of whole China several years ago. The Legend of Luguhu Lake has still an important influence on Li Xiaogang’s following artistic creation. The famous work established the basic style of Li Xiaogang’s oil paintings, which was constructed by exquisite brushwork and elegant composition, the former reflected his skillful technique, and the later was the reflection of his profound intelligence. The illusory picture of his paintings show us the artist unlimited imagination and excited inner world. The Incomplete Photo is an emotional and subjective picture of expression. In the picture, we can find that there is an image of current Moscow city outside of the window, but the reflection of the window on the wall is the landscape of St. Petersburg city of czar Russian time. We can not recognize the inner world of the woman sitting on the chair, for the shadow covers her facial expression. It is surprised to us that we can not see the chair supporting her body in the picture, the chair disappeared. The woman looks like floating in the air. What we see here is not a logic picture, but the realistic artistic language makes us believe what we see. This kind of illusory truth shocks the mind of viewers strongly.
