Guo Runwen likes to add expressionistic elements into his realistic paintings， so his works have a kind of subjective arrangement in objectively realistic narration. The Doll has such recognizable characteristic of Guo Runwen style. The woman in the picture has a ritual expression with a religious mercy gesture. Before the woman there is a doll floating， the doll’s face is painted as between life and non-life. The composition of the picture is very common， but the surrealistic arrangement makes the painting get a possibility of further reading.
