The brainchild of Swiss couple Peter and Doris Baer，baerjewels came into existence in Hong Kong in 1988. The aim was to create jewelry using highly original designs，fine gems and cutting edge craftsmanship.
Peter is a master goldsmith，he trained in fine arts and jewelry design and later graduated in Germany as a gemologist and diamond expert. A winner and judge of numerous international design competitions，he is also an appointed external examiner at the Hong Kong Design Institute.
Doris was immediately drawn to the Asian culture upon her arrival in Hong Kong. She picked up traditional Chinese painting and after two decades found her own style. She already had commissions and a very successful exhibition in Switzerland in August 2007.
Her intuitive，feminine touch is a perfect match to Peter’s bold，technical style. She compares their partnership to the Tai Chi symbol ‘Yin and Yang’.
