Jared chooses to paint in Under-glaze because of its direct method where each brush mark shows out immediately the feeling and intent of the subject. This lends a truth and clarity to the imagery. In the artist’s words, " I hold in my mind only a few elements; characters and figures that I feel represent the broad theme I am trying to paint. With spontaneous brush work the elements always find their right place in the painting".
Jared’s inventive flow of images to form one theme is what makes his work unique.
