With its amazing sale of 0.86 billion RMB in last year¡¯s autumn auction, Beijing Poly Auction successfully crated a new record for domestic Chinese auction companies. The highlight among the 15 sessions is the 1st Evening Sale of Chinese Works of Art, which realized a grand total of over 440 million, and the modern & contemporary arts contributed nearly 75% of it. In order to commemorate those celebrated Chinese artists and their tremendous achievements made in recent a hundred years, Beijing Poly Auction Co., intends to hold ¡°Domestic and Abroad¡ª Exhibition of Chinese Artists in a Hundred Years ¡± which is scheduled to open in the Poly Art Museum at the end of March. And a proportion of works on that exhibition will be hammered in the following Evening Sales of 2008 Poly Spring Auction. This exhibition and the following evening sale will target at 35 Chinese domestic artists and 25 Chinese artists who live overseas. We plan to acquire one single piece from each of them. In the meantime, the works which have important influence in Chinese art history are also been in our consideration of acquisition. And your support will be very helpful. The proposed list of invited artists includes: Domestic artists: Xu Beihong, Liu Haisu, Wu Zuoren, Wu Guanzhong, Jin Shangyi, Luo Zhongli, Wang Huaiqing, Ai Xuan, Yang Feiyun, Wang Yidong, Shi Chong, Leng Jun, Zhang Xiaogang, Fang Lijun, Yue Minjun, Wang Guangyi, Zeng Fanzhi, Liu Wei, Yang Shaobin, Liu Ye, etc. Overseas artists: Lin Fengmian, Chang Yu, Pan Yuliang, Wu Dayu, Chen Chengbo, Chen Yinpi, Zhu Ruanzhi, Zhao Wuji, Zhu Dequn, Chen Yifei, Chen Danqing, Ding Shaoguang, Zhu Ming, Cai Guoqiang, Xu Bing, Yan Peiming, Cheng Conglin, etc. We would like to remind you that, the above list keeps updating. If there are some important names we forgot to mention, please do let us know. The preparation is currently on its way. After we complete the acquisition, we plan to make the exhibition a tour around a number of Chinese cities and some countries, which tries to meet as many art lovers as possible.
