Beijing Poly Auction, broke the world records of Chinese Paintings

Beijing Poly 2009 Autumn Auction was successfully held from 19 to 24th Nov. in Beijing Asian Hotel. The auction has generated over RMB 1.58 billion turnover, which broke the records for sales in mainland China.

 

Among all items, the EIGHTEEN ARHATS hand scroll by Wu Bin was sold for RMB 169.12 million, broke the world record for sales generated from Chinese Paintings. Also, the LETTER LEAF(standard script calligraphy) mounted by Zeng Gong brought up a new world record of Chinese Calligraphy with RMB 108.64 million in mainland China. For Modern Chinese Painting, FLOWERS AND INSECTS ALBUM LEAF by Qi Baishi was sold for RMB 95.2 million, created a new world record for sales. The Yongzheng Period,Qing Dynasty A Rare And Superbly Decoratd ¡°Famille-ROSE¡± Altar Vase broke the Yongzheng Period Fine Chinese Ceramics record for sales with RMB 67.76 million in mainland China. Also, The Fall by Wu Guanzhong has become his the most expensive painting in 2009, which was sold for RMB 30.80 million.
