Wang Meng's ZHICHUANYIJU Got RMB 402.5Million

In the evening, 4th June. Beijing Poly 2011 Spring Auction evening scale, the Chinese classical drawing ZHICHUANYIJU by Wang Meng transacted with RMB 402.5 million. It is second only to DIMINGZHU of Huang Tingjian which auctioned last year by Poly, so ZHICHUANYIJU became the second high price of Chinese classic drawing.
Auctioneer Liu Xinghui declared, before the Chinese Classical Drawing Evening Scale, the person who would like to bid this drawing need to transact special bid board which the number are above 8000. Until to 7:30 P.M. There were 17 collectors transact them. The special scale of ZHUCHUANYIJU began at 8:36P.M with RMB 110million trigger price. Through 19 times bid. The collector 8086 bid it with RMB 350 million hammer price, adding commission with RMB 402.5 million. It is the highest price of Chinese classic drawing and calligraphy of this spring auction.
The drawing ZHICHUANYIJU depicted a story of Ge Hong, a person of Dong Jin Dynasty, transmigrated to Lou Fu mountain to alchemy. Many famous artists of China had seen this drawing,and inscribed poem on it. And the Chinese contemporary connoisseur Qi Gong, Xu Bangda, Fu Xinian spoke highly to this treasure.
