Beijing Poly Auction Proudly Concluded at RMB 2.87 Billion in 2013 Autumn Sales

Beijing Poly Auction drew the curtain on Dec.6 and has achieved a total of RMB 2.87 billion in transaction volume, standing out for the 11th time as the lead among domestic auction houses. Poly has proudly got a yearly transaction amounting to 7.88 billion up to now, topping in consecutive four years regarding annual artwork transaction volume globally.
There is one piece exceeding hundreds of millions and 36 pieces over tens of millions in transaction volume.
The masterpiece by artist Huangzhou named ¡°Huangtengdecaoyuan¡±(Gaiety in the Grassland) was transacted at RMB 128.8 million, sharply refreshing this artist¡¯s auction record, topping the list of Chinese paintings on auction, making it as the only one that exceeds hundreds of millions threshold in transaction in this autumn sales season. Qi Baishi¡¯s Peaches created a record new of RMB 34.5 million in transaction while the session for celebrating upcoming the year of horse enjoyed 100% transaction rate,with 8 pieces sold out, which saw Xu Beiong¡¯s Five Horses and Album of Horses transacted at RMB 25.3 million and RMB 20.125 million respectively. Wu Guanzhong¡¯s Sould of Pines topped itself as the highest with RMB 33.924 million among those sold this year. Ancient classical paintings and calligraphies has go through severe competition among bidders. Two pieces named ¡°Listening to the sound of spring¡± and ¡°a hermit and a crane¡± by Northern Song artist Ma Yuan were transacted at RMB 65.55 million. Emperor Qianlong¡¯s Painting and Calligraphy after Tang Yin and Wen Zhengming was sold at RMB 54.625 million. The mentioned above became the top two in this season auction.Shen Zhou¡¯s landscape broke record of Shenzhou¡¯s by RMB 50.6 million.
Modern Arts performed well and showed signs of warmness as domenstrated by Fang Lijun¡¯s 1997.1 transacted at RMB 28.75 million, a new record for Fang Lijun¡¯s piece on auction. Wang Yidong¡¯s Waiting refreshed a new record at RMB 20.7 million.
Among Antiques and Ceramics, Western Zhou Period A MAGNIFICENT AND IMPORTANT ARCHAISTIC BRONZE VESSEL£¬GUI beat others by RMB 28.175 million and Jiajing Period£¬Ming Dynasty A MAGNIFICENT AND LARGE BLUE AND WHITE¡®IMMORTALS AND LONGEVITY¡¯DOUBLEGOURD SHAPED VASE was transacted at RMB 21.275 million.
