Chang Qing is a young teacher of China Academy of Fine Arts in Hangzhou. He got his artistic early trained in Si Chuan Academy of Fine Arts and China Academy of Fine Arts. Chang Qing¡¯s oil paintings come out as an academic style emphasizing the realistic representation of objects and aesthetic expression of picture. In Chang Qing¡¯s recent works, there appeared a tendency of going further into the inner world of the figures. The composition and the environment of his paintings began to adapt this kind of creation. The Midsummer is such a picture with somewhat quality of emotional expression. Chang Qing described a reminiscent sense by his brush in this painting through the icon contrast between the old of water crock and the young of the woman.
